AIX Records Launches World's First 3D Music Album on Blu-ray 3D

By Ian White

Audiophiles and videophiles have known about AIX Records' outstanding music releases for many years. They have become a welcome staple at trade shows around the globe due to their state-of-the-art surround mixes and fantastic music. Their "Audio Calibration Disc and HD Music Sampler" was very well received when it was launched so we all knew that it was only a matter of time before they would venture into the 3D arena.

Their brand new "Goldberg Variations Acoustica" is a 53-minute original music event and Blu-ray 3D disc shot with four Panasonic prototype 3D A1 cameras. The Blu-ray disc is fully compatible with both 2D and 3D televisions and Blu-ray players, though of course you'll want a Blu-ray 3D player and 3D TV to get the full 3D picture. The recording is a jazz interpretation of Bach's famous composition.

There are two 5.1 surround mixes on the disc; both in Dolby TrueHD. The first mix is set on the "stage" with the musicians and offers a really intense perspective. The second mix is down in the "audience." There is also a true 24-bit/96kHz high resolution stereo mix as well for you two-channel purists.

The Blu-ray 3D disc is available directly from AIX Records for $34.95 plus shipping.
