While it's certainly true that flat panel plasmas and LCD TVs scream "sexy," if your taste runs to the large screen sizes (over 50 inches),  they also scream "EXPENSIVE!" And while front projectors are also undeniably cool, they present their own challenges: where to put the screen, how to control the lighting, how to provide sound, etc. And this is where rear projection DLP HDTVs come in.

If you've got the floor space, the spacious room and the appetite for a huge 1080p HDTV picture, but you don't have several thousand dollars lying around for a big plasma or LCD TV, then check out Samsung's 72-inch 1080p DLP set, the HL72A650, now on sale on TigerDirect for the remarkably low price of $1699.97 with free shipping.  That's $900 below the list price of $2599!

Here's the link:

Update! These TVs are back in stock but not for long so grab one while you can!

The HL72A650 is Samsung's current high-end Full HD 1080p DLP HDTV, with three HDMI inputs and an Energy Star-compliant environmentally conscious design.  Its enormous 72-inch DLP screen is housed in a sleek Piano Key Black cabinet and its slim depth (19.2 inches) allows it to fit where other smaller but deeper RPTV sets won't. Samsung’s Cinema Smooth 120Hz Light Engine offers smooth, film-like images, and its game mode enhances response time for big screen gaming.

The set also includes 3D capabilities that let you enjoy 3D movies and games to the fullest (PC and additional 3D adapter and glasses purchase required). Its full HD 1080p resolution (1920x1080 pixels) make it a great match for Blu-ray, HD cable or HD satellite set-top boxes.  If you prefer getting your HDTV shows for free, you can plug in a standard UHF/VHF antenna and pick up your digital and HD channels right opver the air (depending on your location) via the set's included ATSC tuner. The Wiselink USB 2.0 input lets you connect your digital camera or MP3 player, for quick access to pictures and playlists right from your TV's remote control.  The set is brand new and covered by Samsung's one year in-home parts and labor warranty, including the lamp.  Additional warranty coverage is available at checkout from TigerDirect.

Go BIG or go home!

Note: this offer is subject to change without notice and is limited to stock on-hand. Also, it is only available via affiliate sites such as Big Picture Big Sound. The public price displayed on the TigerDirect Web site may be higher.
