New Samsung 3D TV Bundle Comes with How To Train Your Dragon Blu-ray 3D, Player and Glasses

By Rachel Cericola

Amazon is rolling out yet another 3D TV deal, which will make for an extremely happy holiday for some. For a limited time, the retailer is offering deals on select Samsung 3D TVs. Buy one of those, and you'll snag a free BD-C5900 Blu-ray 3D player, as well as Samsung's 3D Starter Kit.

What makes this deal a little more interesting is that this is Samsung's new-and-improved starter kit. It still has the two pairs of Samsung 3D glasses, but now offers a copy of How to Train Your Dragon on Blu-ray 3D. This is the first we've seen this offered in a bundle. Of course, it probably won't be the last. Take a peek at the 3D TVs and other deal details here:

One model we'd like to call out in this deal is the UN55C8000 3D LED TV. Our own Chris Chiarella reviewed this model earlier this year, and was extremely pleased with what the TV could do -- he was just looking for more 3D to do with it. Of course, it also does 2D, in full 1080p HD. Other features include a 240Hz refresh rate, ConnectShare and AllShare features, a Game Mode, Samsung's own Touch of Color design, and four HDMI ports.

If you run out of both 2D and 3D content to view, this HDTV also has access to Samsung's Internet@TV services. This allows you to connect to additional content, through your TV remote. Current content partners include Blockbuster, Netflix, Amazon Video on Demand, YouTube, Facebook, Flickr, and more. Get more details on the 3D HDTV here:

Our editor, Chris Boylan has Samsung's C8000 plasma model in for review and so far, things look promising with that one, too, with excellent black levels, contrast and color saturation as well as less 3D crosstalk (ghosting), compared to the LED models.

A total of 11 models are being offered with this deal. Choose LED or plasma, in sizes range from 40 to 63 inches. The only Blu-ray 3D player being offered is the BD-C5900, but it is free and has access to the Internet@TV service, as well as 3D playback and AllShare support. The player can also do Wi-Fi, but you'll need to add in the optional adapter (not included).

When placing an order, you'll need to put the 3D TV, the BD-C5900 Blu-ray 3D player and the 3D Starter Kit into your shopping cart. Make sure you're buying each item through Amazon with amazon.com listed as the seller; the deal does not apply to any of the retailer's third-party merchants. The savings will be reflected before your final checkout. Act quickly, though -- this offer is only good through 11:59 p.m. (PST) on December 4, 2010 or until Amazon runs out of stock.
