Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment officially announced the Planet of the Apes 40 Year Evolution Blu-ray Collection to be released on November 4th, 2008, just in time for the holidays. Packed with all new exclusive high definition content, the set will not only feature the original 1968 classic Planet of the Apes starring Charlton Heston, but will also include the sequels Beneath the Planet of the Apes, Escape from the Planet of the Apes, a previously unavailable unrated version of Conquest of the Planet of the Apes and Battle for the Planet of the Apes. Each film will be offered on dual-layer, BD-50 discs in their original 2.35:1 aspect ratio and feature newly mastered English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio lossless, English, Spanish, and French Mono soundtracks. The titles will also include English and Spanish subtitles.

In addition, Fox will also re-release the previously available Limited Edition Planet of the Apes Ultimate Collection DVD set in a specially designed ape head at a new lower price on the same date as the Blu-ray collection.
