VIZIO's 65-Inch P65-C1 P Series UHD TV with Dolby Vision Now $1999.99

By Rachel Cericola

If you're shopping for a new TV, you probably want the latest and greatest -- not the last and most discounted. Best Buy is currently offering a 2016 UHD TV model from VIZIO with all of the bells and whistles you'd want, but at a price you can actually afford.

The retailer has the VIZIO 65-inch P65-C1 P Series 4K Ultra HD TV listed for just $1,999.99, which includes free shipping.

This 65-incher is a full-array LED backlit Ultra HD TV with Dolby Vision HDR (high dynamic range). Dolby Vision technology boasts better brightness, contrast, and color, all through OTT online streaming, broadcast, Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc (coming soon!) and gaming applications. Dolby Vision is currently available for the home through Netflix and VUDU streaming platforms, with more expected to follow.

Other image perks on the VIZIO P series TVs include Ultra Color Spectrum features (wider color gamut), Clear Action 960 processing for smooth action, and local dimming with 128 active LED zones for brighter colors, stronger black levels, and better overall contrast.

"I've seen the VIZIO P series at VIZIO's line shows and its peak brightness and shadow detail are very impressive, particularly with Dolby Vision HDR content" said our editor, Chris Boylan.

Of course, he's not the only one singing this set's praises. Caleb Denison from Digital Trends got a sneak peek at the model and said, "Our first impressions, based on the hour or so that we did spend with these TVs, has us believing firmly that VIZIO -- yes, VIZIO -- will be the TV brand to beat in 2016."

If that's not enough to entice you, know that this set also comes with a 6-inch Android tablet. This functions as the TV remote control, but it does have 16GB of storage and the ability to display 1080p video right on its own color screen. Of course, it also comes in handy when using the set's Google Cast features, which allow you to "cast" thousands of apps to the big screen, as well as movies, TV shows, and games.

As far as we can tell, Best Buy is currently the only retailer discounting this set, so you may want to snag one before they run out of stock. Also know that if 65 inches is just too small, you can also get this set's big brother, the 75-inch P75-C1, for $3,799.98.
