Panasonic Outs Pricing on 2012 Home Audio Products

By Rachel Cericola

Earlier today, we reported that Panasonic had announced pricing for its 2012 line of Blu-ray players. Of course, Panasonic has plenty of other products planned for the year -- and we've got the goods on those, too.

Panasonic just announced pricing and availability for its entire 2012 home audio line, which includes options for Compact Stereo Systems, Full HD 3D Blu-ray Disc Home Theaters, DVD Home Theaters and Home Theater Systems.

First up, there will be six models in the SC Series of Compact Stereo Systems. Each one promises pure sound and noise reduction capabilities. The SC-HC37 and SC-HC27 both have networking features, along with a slick design, iPhone/iPod support, CD-R/RW and FM radio. Both will be available in April, with the SC-HC27 costing $99.99 and the SC-HC37 priced at $149.99.

The top of the heap will be the SC-HC57 Compact Stereo System, which will go for $199.99. The extra cost is due to the inclusion of Apple AirPlay. This nifty feature allows listeners to stream content from an iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, PC or Mac directly to the device over Wi-Fi.

Panasonic is also introducing two micro-systems, the SC-AP01 and SC-MC07. The SC-AP01 is a wireless, metal bar system with nano-sized bamboo cone speakers and AirPlay technology. It also features Aero Stream Port for rich bass and Direct-Vocal Surround to disperse the sound. The SC-MC07 is the smallest of the new systems and includes Bluetooth support. The SC-AP01 will arrive in June for $169.99, with the SC-MC07 coming the following month for $69.99.

If you want to add some video into that mix, Panasonic is also planning three Full HD 3D Blu-ray Disc Home Theaters. The SC-BTT490, SC-BTT195 and SC-BTT190 all include a Blu-ray 3D player and speakers with 3D Cinema Surround as a standard feature. Each one also has a connection to add in an iPod or iPhone as well as networking options, so users can access the included VIERA Connect platform and DLNA features. The SC-BTT490, SC-BTT195 and SC-BTT190 will be available in April with prices listed as $499.99, $399.99 and $299.99, respectively.

If you're still clinging to DVD, there will be two DVD Home Theaters, the SC-XH170 and SC-XH70. Both feature upconverting DVD players, VIERA Link, and Audio Channel Return. The SC-XH170 and SC-XH70 will both be available in April, priced at $199.99 and $149.99, respectively.

Last, but certainly not least will be the SC-HTB550, SC-HTB350 and SC-HTB20 Home Theater Systems. Each of these systems comes with multi-positional, detachable speakers and a wireless subwoofer, for easy placement. Other features include Anti-Jitter Digital Amplifier, Clear-mode Dialog, Auto Gain Control and wireless music streaming via Bluetooth. The SC-HTB550 will be $399.99, with the SC-HTB350 coming in at $299.99 and the SC-HTB20 priced at $229.99. All three of those systems will also ship in April.
