Michael Jackson's Music Now Top 15 Sellers on Amazon (CD and MP3)

By Chris Boylan

When Elvis died, there was a run on his music at the local record stores.  The same was true with John Lennon (I still have a copy of his and Yoko's "Double Fantasy" LP that my mom bought that fateful December of 1980).  And so it should be no surprise that the same has been true with the untimely passing of pop legend and icon Michael Jackson.

J&R Music World in New York City store had lines around the block this morning, the day after Jackson's tragic death on June 25, 2009 by cardiac arrest.  And on Amazon, though many of Jackson's CDs sold out of their current stock on hand within minutes of the news, much of Mr. Jackson's catalog is still available instantly via MP3 downloads which are flying off the virtual shelves.  At this very moment, the top 15 CDs on Amazon.com all feature Michael Jackson or his former family group The Jackson Five.

In fact, Amazon has already put together a Michael Jackson tribute page with links to the former pop sensation's works.  You can find it here:

While it may be some time before we know the full facts surrounding his death, the man's music and videos live on as a testament to his creative genius.

Rest in peace, Michael Jackson (1958-2009).
