Klipsch CS-500 DVD Home Theater System: $199 Shipped (Save $800)

By Rachel Cericola

Still groggy from a weekend of burgers, hot dogs and fireworks explosions? Amazon is going to ease you into the workweek with this excellent deal on the Klipsch CS-500 Home Theater System.

The retailer is knocking a whopping 80 percent off the setup, which means your price is $199.99 -- but only for today, July 4, 2010. [editor's note: looks like this sale has been extended]. Take a look at the deal here:

This simple setup adds a little home theater to any room, thanks to a 2.1 speaker setup and a DVD player. Scoffing at 2.1? You shouldn't be. Thanks to Dolby Virtual Speaker technology, this system actually projects simulated 5.1 sound from two satellites, a subwoofer and Klipsch's A/V center.

The speakers also feature Klipsch Tractrix Horn technology, while the down-firing sub pumps out sound via a 6.5-inch woofer. Nice and compact, it's easy to stash this sub out of sight. Of course, if you want to show it off, we wouldn't blame you. The black finish matches the speaker components, and just about any room's decor.

Featuring a built-in Class D amplifier, the system can distribute 35 watts of power to each satellite and 100 watts of power to the subwoofer. Other system features include a progressive-scan DVD/CD player, AM/FM tuner, and three auxiliary inputs. Check out more details here:

Perfect for the bedroom, a spare room, the kids, a garage or any other space, this is a great deal on a slick, compact system. Better snag one (or two!) before the deal is gone!
