Harry Potter Half-Blood Prince Clip & App only at iTunes

By Rachel Cericola

Frothing for more Harry Potter? Well, the next installment won't hit most theaters until the end of the month. However, that doesn't mean that you can't get a little taste of Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince.

Warner Bros. just announced exclusive content, which will be distributed through Apple's iTunes Store. Available now, the content includes never-before-seen footage from the upcoming film as well as a Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince app.

A podcast, titled "Being Me Has Its Privileges," features an introduction by Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger). If you're a fan, it's very worthy of your two minutes.

The new Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince app should soak up a bit more of your time. It allows fans to interact with a recreation of Dumbledore's Pensieve. Available at the App Store, this unlocks even more exclusive film content, including videos, posters, character information, and more. You can even insert yourself into a Wanted poster or the Daily Prophet by uploading a pic to your iPod touch or taking a new one with the iPhone camera.

Also available is a Harry Potter Retrospective clip, which gives fans a chance to relive the magic of years one through five.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is directed by David Yates from a screenplay by Steve Kloves, based on the novel by J.K. Rowling. Aside from Radcliffe, Grint and Watson, the film also stars Helena Bonham Carter, Jim Broadbent, Robbie Coltrane, Michael Gambon, Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Timothy Spall, David Thewlis, Warwick Davis, Tom Felton, Helen McCrory, Julie Walters and Bonnie Wright.

Both the podcast and the app are available now -- for free. Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince opens in select theaters on July 15. It will go nationwide on July 29.
