DVDO EDGE Video Processor Slices and Dices at 1080p

At CEDIA Expo this week, video processor manufacturer DVDO is presenting their new processor, DVDO EDGE, a handy and affordable dedicated box in this age when everything absolutely, positively has to be output at 1080p.

The EDGE upscales all video formats up to a full 1080p output, while improving image quality via its integrated Anchor Bay Video Reference Series (VRS) technology. The proprietary VRS provides a wide range of advanced video processing options well-suited to large screen displays, including Precision Video Scaling, Precision Deinterlacing, Progressive Reprocessing (PReP), color correction, detail enhancement, and noise reduction. It also serves as a handy audio/video hub, with a whopping six HDMI 1.3 inputs for the various source components, with a user interface simple enough for first-timers but giving total control to home theater buffs as well. The suggested retail price of The EDGE is $799.

The remote-controlled DVDO EDGE processor can toggle between a host of inputs, each ably upscaled to 1080p.

While at the show, DVDO is also taking part in the Learning Lab Experience, three rooms at the Convention Center where attendees can check out a wide range of the latest video, audio, and cable products including the DVDO iScan VP50PRO and EDGE video processor. For home theater aficionados (and professional installer/integrators), the Learning Lab is pretty much Disneyland: Denver.
