Black Friday's Top 5 Deals on HDTV, Speakers and Home Theater

By Rachel Cericola

Another major holiday has passed, but now the real fun begins -- it's Black Friday. While we were snuggling by the fire last night, we saw plenty of bargain hunters on the news, seeking good deals and less family time.

We do love a good deal as much as the next cheap-o. However, we also know that many of those deals can also be found online. So instead of sleeping out next to strangers, trying to find the most comfy piece of concrete, and punching our way to savings, we spent the day hanging out in our bunny slippers and eating turkey sandwiches -- all while still finding some good deals.

There is some sense of urgency, since many of these deals do sell out. Here are five of our favorites for day. Get them while the getting's good!

BA-MCS130.jpg
Boston Acoustics MCS 130

At $329, these are easy on your wallet. They also won't suck up all of your living room space, either. The set includes three dual 3.5-inch LCR speakers, two 3.5-inch satellites and a 200 watt-powered subwoofer. Each of these small speakers are pretty enough to hang on the wall, but could also blow the hair off your head. The speakers also have MagnaGuard magnetic shielding, for easy placement near your TV. The system includes speaker wire and everything you'd need to mount, right out of the package. As far as we can see, the deal only applies if you are into having white speakers, which go well with everything -- except mess.

Toshiba-40RV525R.jpg
Toshiba 32-inch 32AV502R LCD

Toshiba has a little beauty in the 32AV502R. CompUSA.com has a big deal in the 32AV502R. Sounds like a good match -- for you. This 32-inch LCD is perfect for your living room, but can also be a nice addition to the bedroom, basement or any other area that needs great entertainment. The unit features a nice 1366 x 768 resolution, TheaterWide and Game Modes, DynaLight dynamic backlight control, and two HDMI ports. It also has two HD-capable component video inputs, plus S-video and composite video inputs. At $319, this is a phenomenal deal for a 32-incher -- as well as the cheapest we could find for this unit.

Polk-TC615i.jpg
Polk Audio TC615i In-Wall Loudspeaker

The great thing about in-wall speakers is that you can rock the house, without sacrificing your precious floor space. Even better, you don't have to worry about friends and family resting their drinks on them. Polk's TC615i is almost too pretty to stuff into the walls, but that's really where you'll find it doing its best work. This speaker can handle up to 125 watts of power all on its own. It features a Dynamic Balance polymer composite driver and an aimable 3/4-inch silk dome tweeter. Paintable, powder-coated aluminum grilles allow this unit to disappear into your decor. Since it's sold as a single unit, it's perfect for use as a center-channel speaker.  However, we wouldn't mind spreading the wealth all throughout the house. At $60, it's absolutely affordable. Despite being a loner, we think it's well worth the sale price. They typically list for $20 more.

Samsung-LN40B530.jpg
Samsung 40" 1080p Widescreen LCD HDTV

We have another 40-inch TV at another nice price. If you're into Samsung, Amazon is offering the LN40B530 for $649 -- and enticing us even further with free shipping. You'll have to click through to get this price, but it will be there right before you place your order. The TV is well worth the extra clicks, with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 60,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, a 6ms response time, and three HDMI inputs. There's also a Game Mode, which promises better blacks, sharper images and killer audio for the best gaming experience possible.

MartinLogan-Helos20.jpg
MartinLogan Helos20 In-Ceiling Speaker

MartinLogan is a very high-end speaker. It's nice that Amazon is offering it at a very low-end price. For $100, the Helos20 can crank stereo sound from a single speaker. It's perfect for offices, bathrooms, hallways, or just anywhere you need to stuff a little extra sound. Each unit features dual 0.75-inch neodymium soft dome tweeters with a pivoting stem, a single 6.5-inch woofer, and proprietary Vojtko crossover topology. The frequency response ranges from 47-20,000 Hz. This is a deal you should really jump on; these speakers normally go for $399 a pop.
