Atlantic Technology Debuts New Speaker Systems: 1400, 2400, 4400

By Rachel Cericola

Need some new audio equipment? That's what Atlantic Technology must be thinking. Instead of pushing out the same old A/V products, they just announced an entirely revamped lineup. On the heels of the System 1400 SR-Z speaker announcement, Atlantic says they will soon offer three additional compact speaker systems, as well as a new line of box subwoofers.

The new offerings include three different multichannel speaker systems: the Atlantic Technology System 1400, the System 2400, and the THX Select-certified System 4400. Each series includes three models: a two-way LR front channel speaker, two-way horizontal MTM center channel, and a dipole/bipole selectable surround channel speaker. These new packages will replace the company's System 1200, 2200, and 4200e offerings.

Aside from updated aesthetics, other features include the company's own LRT (Low Resonance Tweeter) with the 1400 and 2400, and on-wall mounting capabilities for the 4400.

If you need additional boom in your room, Atlantic has also introduced a new line of SB-powered subwoofers. Aside from a 350-watt version of the 642e SB, there are three entirely new models: the 325-watt 444 SB, the 220-watt 334 SB, and the 180-watt 224 SB. Designed for a wide variety of room sizes, all three feature a long-throw composite cone woofer and the company’s own CFT (Clear Filter Technology).

Expect each of the new units to become available by the end of this month. Full 5.1-channel systems will run between $1,680 and $3,800, depending on the model, subwoofer and configuration.
