Listen to Your Vinyl Records in Any Room with Victrola Stream Carbon Turntable and Sonos

By Chris Boylan

Nothing beats that anticipation when the needle hits the groove: the light thump and crackle that lets you know your favorite music is about to begin playing. And now you can share that good feeling and great music with any room in your home. Legendary turntable maker Victrola just announced the Victoria Stream Carbon turntable. It plays all your favorite records and it works with Sonos so you can listen to your vinyl in any room that has a Sonos speaker.

No additional hardware is required. The Victrola Stream Carbon is "Works with Sonos" certified. After a simple set-up process, you'll be able to select the Victrola turntable as a source within the Sonos app just like Spotify or Tidal or your local digital music files. Volume can be controlled in the Sonos app or on the turntable itself. The turntable supports both WiFi and hard-wired network connections and can also be connected to a receiver, preamp or integrated amp via standard RCA jacks. It comes with a premium Ortofon Red 2M cartridge and a built-in high quality phono preamp so you can connect it to any line level input on your gear.

"We spend a lot of time with our consumers trying to understand how and why they like to listen to music the way they do," said Scott Hagen, CEO of Victrola. "We discovered a massive number of Sonos system owners were also active vinyl listeners. Even more importantly, consumers told us they would listen to music even more if they could play their favorite records through their Sonos system, using their Sonos app. It was with this in mind that led us to working with team members at Sonos on a multi-year journey that ultimately resulted in the coolest music product I've ever had the opportunity to help bring to market."

At $899, the Stream Carbon will be the flagship model but other turntables in the Stream line are expected to be coming in 2023. The Victrola Stream Carbon is available for pre-order and is expected to begin shipping next month (October, 2022). Find out more at stream.victrola.com.
