Victrola Unveils Revolution Go Portable Record Player

By Chris Boylan

They say everything old is new again, and that couldn't be more true than today. At the virtual Pepcom Holiday Spectacular event, the classic phonograph brand Victrola unveiled what it calls the "The world's first portable, rechargeable, Bluetooth record player:" The Revolution Go.

Looking like something ripped right out of 1975, the Revolution Go plays vinyl records at 33, 45 or 78 RPM. It features a rechargeable battery that lasts for up to 12 hours and supports both Bluetooth input (from a phone or tablet) and Bluetooth output in case you'd like to bypass the built-in stereo speaker with one of your own. For portability, it includes a retractable handle and a detachable guitar strap. This puppy weighs in at almost 7 pounds so that shoulder strap will definitely come in handy.

For private listening, you can tap into the 1/8 inch headphone jack or synch up a pair of Bluetooth headphones. The unit also features a standard stereo RCA jack for connecting to a receiver or home audio system.

Although the Revolution Go can be used outside, it is not waterproof nor even water resistant. Vinyl records also don't tend to hold up well to the elements, so definitely check the weather forecast before heading out. Its anti-vibration enclosure should help prevent records from skipping if the party really starts rocking. The unit comes with an Audio Technica cartridge with a replaceable stylus.

The Victrola Revolution Go (Model #VSC-750SB) will retail for $199.99 and is expected to start shipping later this month (October 25, 2021). Though it will be offered in at least two colors (blue and black), the black unit will be available first.

If you take off the unit's cover, it can hold and display five of your favorite records (it even has room for double albums).
