At the 2013 International CES, you can't walk 3 inches without seeing some sort of giant TV. It gets a little blinding after a while. However, Toshiba is making its new lineup stand out, by incorporating a few unique features into some of the 2013 models.
First up is the company's 2013 LED TV line, which will pack in something called Cloud TV. This platform promises an even smarter smart TV experience, via on-demand news and social interaction, as well as integration with mobile devices. There's a even a little promise of future-proofing, via server-based upgrades. A few Cloud TV offerings will include family calendar options, messaging, news, MediaShare and Media Guide, and the option to stream content to the displays through Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) and Miracast features.
The 2013 LED lineup will include three full 1080p HD models in various sizes. The L7350 Series is the only new 3D LED option for this year, with active 3D technology in 58- and 65-inch screen sizes. The L7300 Series is a 2D line, with 50-, 58- and 65-inch options. And finally, the L4300 Series will have 2D TVs in smaller 32-, 39- and 50-inch screens. Toshiba has yet to announce all of the features or pricing on each of these sets, but select models should start shipping sometime in March.
Not much is known about resolutions or anything else for the L2300 Series, except that the 23-, 32-, 39- and 50-inch sizes are designed to be affordable. Also, each one has a gun metallic satin deco design with a matching base. Even less is known about the L1350 Series, except that these LEDs will be available in 23-, 29-, 32-, 39- and 50-inch screen sizes. Both lines will also start shipping in March.
Toshiba also recently announced plans to release the L9300 Series UltraHD LED TVs. Available in 58-, 65- and 84-inch screen sizes, these TVs include the company's CEVO 4K Quad+Dual Core Processor, UltraHD upscaling and 2D-to-3D conversion.
