While Tesla reached an important milestone this year, having the most popular car model in worldwide sales in the first quarter of 2023 (the Model Y), the company just rolled out a series of big discounts on existing inventory cars which are currently sitting in the lots of Tesla stores across the country. We're nearing the end of Q2, so Tesla is hoping to pump up those quarterly delivery numbers to keep Wall Street happy for another three months. And this means now is an excellent time to bring home a Tesla.
Update (July 7, 2023): Inventory discounts are still currently available, but may be removed at any time. Also, Tesla is still offering a $1,000 referral discount on Model X and Model S, and unveiled a new $500 instant discount on any Model 3 and Model Y (custom build or inventory model).
Select Model 3 inventory cars are now selling for $2,210 to $3,190 below the price of a custom ordered car. If you can find a car with a few miles on the odometer you can save even more. Inventory cars (even those with a few miles on them) still qualify as new as far as the car warranty, federal tax credit and state tax incentives are concerned. As of July 7, Tesla is also offering an instant discount of $500 plus three free months of Full Self-Driving on any Model 3 or Model Y.
And about that tax credit, Tesla recently announced that all Model 3s and Model Ys are eligible for the full $7,500 federal tax credit in the U.S. Additional incentives are available in states like New York ($2,000), Colorado ($5,000), and California (up to $7,500). This means the net price paid by most U.S. buyers for a Model 3 or Model Y is significantly less than these low sale prices. Using a referral link will also get you a Rewards Points bonus of 1,500 Reward Points with purchase of a Model 3 or Model Y.

The other big discount that just went live in June is on inventory Model S and Model X cars. Tesla has knocked $7,500 off the price of select in-stock inventory Model S, Model S Plaid and Model X cars. Using a referral code will also get you an additional $1,000 discount plus three months of free FSD (Full Self Driving).

With this deal, you may be able to find a Model S Dual Motor all wheel drive sedan with 405 miles of EPA range for $82,990.
