LG OLED TV Sale - 55-inch for $1497, 65-inch for $2297

By Chris Boylan

Whether you're a fan of movies, episodic TV or sports, LG's latest batch of OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) TVs are among the best you can buy for picture quality. With self-emissive pixels, OLED TVs create deep inky black levels and richly saturated colors that virtually pop off the screen. The only down-side? They're not particularly cheap.

But if you were hoping for a new TV in time for the "big game," you're in luck. LG has recently authorized the lowest prices we've seen to date on their popular B8 series 4K Ultra HD OLED TVs. Right now at authorized LG retailers (like Amazon), you can find the 55-inch B8 for under $1,500 and the 65-inch B8 TV for under $2,300. This is approximately $800 off the original list price of the 55-incher and $1,000 below the original list price of the 65-inch model.

This pricing offer expires on February 2nd. For comparison, the best prices we found on LG's 55-inch OLED on Black Friday weekend was about $1,600 and the 65-inch was about $2,500. So this is the best deal we've seen and are likely to see on LG OLEDs for a while.

We've had the 2018 C8 model in for long-term review for the past few weeks and can say that it is among the best TVs we've tested. Some of the minor shortcomings on the 2017 model have been addressed with improvements to video processing, overall brightness and color accuracy.

The B8 series OLED TVs, like all of LG's 2018 LG OLED TVs, feature 4K Cinema HDR, with support for the major high dynamic range formats including Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG. The sets use LG's advanced tone-mapping technology to provide scene-by-scene HDR optimization.

The B8 Models including LG's "AI ThinQ" Smart TV platform, with a comprehensive selection of built-in streaming apps. Many of these apps which support native 4K HDR content such as Amazon, Netflix and Vudu. These sets also have the Google Assistant built in, so you can control compatible smart home devices, search for content or information and control the TV using just your voice. LG TVs with AI ThinQ can also be controlled by Amazon's Alexa devices.
