CES: Audio-Technica Introduces Two New Noise Canceling Headphones

By Dennis Burger

Hot on the heels of their ATH-ANC7b QuietPoint Active Noise-Cancelling Headphones receiving a CES Innovations 2010 Design and Engineering award, Audio-Technica announced two new QuietPoint models at this year's CES.

The on-ear ATH-ANC25 and over-earĀ ATH-ANC27 bring the company's lauded noise-cancelling technology to more affordable price points without scrimping on comfort. Both come with detachable cords, so you can enjoy the noise cancellation even if you're not in the mood for tunes. What's more, you can still listen to music even if their batteries die and the active noise cancellation no longer functions. Each also comes with a quarter-inch plug adapter, airline adapter, and an AAA battery for the noise cancelation circuitry.

Setting the different models apart is their level of noise cancellation (80% for the ATH-ANC25; 85% for the ATH-ANC27), travel cases (pouch for the ATH-ANC25; hard-shell case for the ATH-ANC27), and, of course, size.

The ATH-ANC25 will be available starting in February for a suggested retail price of $99.95. Look for the ATH-ANC27 to follow in March for a suggested retail price of $119.95.
