Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon four stars
The martial arts genre is finally given its due thanks to Director Ang Lee's beautiful, breathtaking epic.

Traffic four stars
A challenging and thoroughly engrossing film from director Steven Soderbergh which masterfully weaves a complicated tale about the war on drugs both at home and abroad.

You Can Count On Me four stars
A small gem of a film which subtly examines the way a brother and sister deal with the loss of their parents. Full, wonderful performances all around, particularly from Laura Linney and Mark Ruffalo.

Requiem for a Dream three and a half stars
With an operatic story of four drug-addicts and their slow disintegration, Director Darren Aronofsky dares you to sit through one of the most difficult and challenging films ever made. Certainly not for everyone, but worth it if you have the stomach.

Time Code three and a half stars
Mike Figgis' magnificent experiment pushes the boundaries of the digital medium with thrilling results.
