Gravity never fails, which Isaac Newton proved. And now Cambridge SoundWorks proves that there is such a thing as affordable surround sound with their Newton Series HT55 home theater speaker package.

I used to have a Cambridge Soundworks Newton Mini Cube surround system seven years ago when I purchased my first SACD player. I used it as a stopgap surround system with an entry level Sony AVR. It didn't have a powered sub, it had an 8" passive sub, but even with that the sound it achieved -- even with that cheap Sony AVR -- was amazing for the price and the size of the drivers. I upgraded the entire system within months after that and would eventually use two of the mini cubes as surround back speakers in a 7.1 setup before upgrading them to ORB Audios then to the Polk Atriums that I use now.

I have nothing bad to say about Cambridge Audio and I'm sure that this latest iteration with a powered sub and updated mini cube speakers surpasses what I had seven or so years ago.
