Why have I never heard of these guys? Anyway, I don't know what it sounds like, but that's a pretty cool looking speaker.

They're a small high-end company with a different take on loudspeaker design. I first heard them at one of the last Stereophile "HE Expo" shows in LA. You can read about Zu down toward the bottom:

Bob's Best-Of Home Entertainment Expo 2006 (Part I): BigPictureBigSound

In addition to welcoming any kind of music in their suite (not just the mellow audiophile-approved dreck), Zu actually sponsored a danceclub night at the show, with DJs spinning trance, hip hop and other dance tunes pumped out to the crowd over tube amps and stacked Zu loudspeakers.

Definitely not your traditional high-end speaker company, but good sounding speakers nonetheless.
