BD-80 and external hard drive?

Mr Boylan... Will i be able to watch movies stored in my WD passport hard drive through the bd80 dvd player?... These are HD movies downloaded to the external hard drive from my canon digital camera.... What are the guidelines is this is possible??!

Depends on the format of the movies and their filetype. What does your canon digital camera create? Are they AVI files, MOV files? OR something else? do you know what codec they use?
