Get it back to the store and try an other one...
Got a new one and still asking for a username and password incorrect. Now I can bypass it asking for the username password and just click on the video/music/photos flies which is to the right of the MYPC and it just says no file found.

I have did all the files sharing of folders etc that has been explained and no go.

It is not firewall because I have turned off my vista firewall and the nortons.

Which firewall was it for you? The windows or your nortons type software?

    Default Firewall

With Norton 360 v2 firewall I was stuck with the user error stuff...
The windows firewall was always off since i got N360.
Then i saw in this forum the possibility that the firewall was the bug.
So I shut off N360 firewall and instantly all beging to work in auto mode without user-password !
For a few time i put the win firewall on and it continue to work fine !

Then I contacted norton and they make me install N360 V3 and all worked fine with the n360 v3 firewall on (win-firewall off).

My dlink dir-655 firewall was always on since the start.

You bypass username but were you in auto or manual mode ?

Here is how it should work in the auto mode:

First it scan for pc and show them by name.
Then you select one and press enter
It scan for share folders and show them by name.
Then you select a folder and press enter
Then the menu shrink to the left and then you go to
video or music or photo and press enter to enter the folder
and select the file you want to play.

Is that what you do ?
Because in your description it s sound like you
skip the pc select and enter on it to show the share folders...

Does the menu shrink to the left when you select a pc ?

Because if it does it mean that your are connected but p3600 cant find a share folder...

If so look at the parms of your share folder.
Also try to shut off all your firewall including the router firewall.

I understand the frustation... Samsung did a bad job on the pc streaming...
It's should not be that difficult to connect to pc...
I hope they will correct it soon...

It's also not stable because sometime p3600 does not see the pc
    where my share folders are...
I dont know why... Very frustrating...

About the stability problem I think I found the bug...
My wifi dongle was surrounded by too many electronics equipements.
So I use a usb cable extention for the dongle and put it in
a better place and now I see the pc I wanted to connect to !

Thats not a problem for me because I always see my connected PC.

For example, I call my connected computer: MYPC

Now when I do the auto search, it does find it straight away. I see it clear as its called MYPC

Now when I highlight it with the remote and then press arrow right it then opens up the options VIDEO,MUSIC,PHOTO,SET UP.

So I select video and nothing is there, hell I even try them all and it always says no file found.

    * Now this is where I am confused, Is the above what I am suppossed to be doing OR am I supposed to actualy just press enter on the remote on the MYPC option? Because when I do that it is the only time that it asks for USER NAME AND PASSWORD. And as stated numerous times that is when it says it is incorrect!

So, If what I have said in green writing is the correct way then is it just that I have not set up a shared folder correctly? I am 95% certain I have did this correct, hell I have pretty much set up every folder on the pc and shared!

Could you please tell me step by step how to set up a shared VIDEO file for my bd3600 to see through auto mode? I have not found that any of the guides on this forum to be detailed enough for me to 100% understand.

    Thanks for your time.

The correct way is to press Enter on the remote on the selected pc and it bring the user/password sequence... or some time the folder/user/password sequence... And that's where you get stuck with the invalid message...

I'm pretty sure your sharing parms are ok. I think the problem is the combination of windows service-pack version, firewall config, router config...

Did you shut off all firewall before your test ?
Is the p3600 on wifi ?
And the pc you want to connect to is it wired or wifi ?
    ...

Just installed service pack 2 and it did not change a thing.

Tried with firewall in router off, and checked the router conf and tried a few diff things but nothing changes.

The pc I am connected to is connected to a wireless router and I am connected to the bd3600 with the wireless dongle.
