Yes, the player has a unique activation code which you must enter at www.Pandora.com/samsung in order to enable the player for Pandora use. The code is in the player's set-up menu (you should see it on screen when you attempt to use Pandora on the player). Until you activate the player on the Pandora web site, Pandora will not work on your player.

Also I'was trying to connect the PC streaming but it said " The pass and user name is correct" And Yes I live in US.
I'd suggest reading the tutorial on how to get PC streaming to work at the very beginning of this thread:

    http://www.bigpicturebigsound.com/fo...-bd-p4600.html

Many people have been able to get PC streaming to work after reading this and following the suggestions given. And if you're still stuck, try Samsung support.

    Good luck!

    Hello,

I have just began my frustrations with the Samsund BD-P3600 as I purchased it this week.

I am trying to stream and keep getting stuck at the invalid user name and password. I have tried following the given instructions but my first question is that I do not know my actual user name and password for my pc. I am running Vista and only use one user which is the administrator without a password. So is the user name whatever the administrator user name is and should I be leaving the password blank???

This is my first experience with file sharing. Also, I have it connected iwth a cable and through wireless and it doe snot seem to make a difference. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Default Firmware upgrade v2.02

I just accepted the new firmware v2.02 (canada) and I have good new's !

    1. New thing in the menu "eContent" you can now access YouTube !
    2. It now read mp4 files ! (so divx + xdiv + mp4)
    3. You can now connect a usb drive in the usb port and access all the folders (not just a usb key) !

Dont forget to reboot your share pc after the upgrade cause you will face the infamous user/password error if you dont...

The only bad thing in this firrmware so far is when you go to youtube and come back to your share pc folders you got to login again... But at least it remember your user/password/ip of the last session.

Did you tried with the firewall off ?

For me the main problem was a firewall issus with the norton 360 v2.
The n360 v3 firewall solve the problem of the user-password message.

Also dont forget to reboot your share pc everytime you change something
in it's parameters before trying to connect with the login menu of your bluray.

Default Samsung BD-P3600 and PC Streaming from a Mac. Works!!!

    Here's a link to the BD-P3600 manual:

    Hi,

I'm new to this forum and just purchased a Samsung BD-P3600 this week. Got it on sale at my local Best Buy ($299). I chose this model especially for it's computer streaming & divx playing capability. I use Mac OS X at home, so I checked the manual beforehand to look for Mac-specific instructions, but found none. Still, I figured it should work with the built-in SMB file sharing. And I was right!

I haven't read all the messages in this thread, I stumbled upon this forum today as I was searching for information on how to get the AUTO Network Search to work. You see, it's no problem getting connected to a shared folder under Mac OS X using the MANUAL connect function. I'm using a PPC/G4 Mac running Mac OS X 10.5. I'm using the Ethernet port with my home network (glad I finally got to use the RJ45 outlet I installed behind my TV years ago). I just enabled "File Sharing" in Mac OS X's "Sharing" Preference pane, and added my video subfolder to the sharing list with SMB access enabled for my user account.
Under Mac OS 10.4 (and earlier) I think you'd just use the "Windows Sharing" option similarly.

Anyway, it worked no problem. I just have to choose MANUAL connect on my P3600, and enter the Mac's IP#, shared subfolder name, username, & password. I've had no problem playing divx files, mp3s, or viewing jpegs. I see from this forum the new firmware also supports mp4 or mkv video. I'll have to give that a try tonight.

I'm running the current firmware (2.02 I think) since it automatically upgraded via the internet as soon as I turned it on for the first time. Sounds like it added a lot of new functionality, and I had no problems with the upgrade.

Though I would like to get the AUTO Network Search function to work, because the 3600 disconnects the computer after playing a DVD or watching a Netfix movie, etc. It does retain the info, so it only requires a few addition blue button presses to re-connect to the computer, but if it could connect automatically, that would be best.

But it sounds like the AUTO connect function doesn't work well (or work at all?). I did enable guess access to File Sharing. So if I perform an AUTO connect, it does display my Mac's name (instead of the manually entered IP#). But I cannot access any of the public folders and it doesn't accept the user/pass combination that I works when I choose MANUAL. So I'm wondering if there's a specific (hard-coded) directory name that it's looking to connect to. I don't know anything about NT/Vista's "simple" file sharing... but I'm wondering if it creates a specific share name (like "PUBLIC" or whatever) that the 3600 is automatically expecting.

So far, I really like my BD-P3600. Netflix movies stream in excellent quality and my divx movies play great! I've never had any use for mkv files, but I will have to look out for some.

By the way, has anyone found updated documentation for the BD-P3600?
I see that Samsung posted a user manual 2.0 for the P1600 that mentions the new YouTube & Blockbuster support, but the P3600 documentation is still only 1.0 on Samsung's site. Maybe they have more specific PC Streaming info in their new user manual.

    Default MKV files

    Hi,

I can confirm that mkv files can play at 1280x720 !
The picture is very very very good !!!
But for the moment I have chopy sound (got to find a codec that work)
and the fast forward or backward button dont work with mkv files...
Too bad cause the picture is stunning !
May be in the next firmware update...

I use Hauppauge HD-PVR to copy HDTV programs in TS files and
I use gdsmux.exe that came with Haali MatroskaSplitter software for
    converting TS files in mkv.
Look for Haali folder in your Programs files folder there a good chance
you have it without knowing it...

But the best conversion for the Hauppauge HD-PVR .TS files is done
with the free Avidemux software in xdiv4 format .avi file and
mp3 sound. The compression is 5 to 6 times smaller with stunning pictures.
Avidemux is the best software for editing video files. you can cut, resize video, boost sound,
sharpen picture, synchronise video with sound and more. And it's free.

You can download short exemples of xvid.avi, mp4 and mkv files here:

For the auto connect it work well at first but now I cannot auto connect
with my livingroom pc... It does not appears in the auto mode and I dont know why... Works well with manual connect.

    Default MKV files supplements

    MKV supplement info...

The bd-p3600 can play mkv files up to HD resolution of 1920x1080 !
But not via wifi connexion. There to much data to read, you must use
wired connexion or a usb-drive or usb-key connected to the usb port.

The picture is stunning and I have solve the sound problem but
with the fast forward and backward button not working it's of little use for now... But it show the potential of the 3600 !

Let us hope for a firmware solution in the future.

You can download a short mvk 1920x1080 here if you want to try it.
