Like many of the people on this forum I've had trouble setting up PC Streaming to my Samsung BD-P3600. Whenever I tried connecting using Network Setting -> Auto, I could get my PC's name to appear on the left with Video, Audio, Photos, and Setup just to the right. However, I couldn't find anything in those folders and if I clicked on my PC's name, none of my usernames or passwords for my PC worked. I tried using a wired connection instead and still couldn't get past the username/password issue.
I use a Windows XP with SP3 and have Norton 360, v.2.
However, I just found a solution and I can now easily stream Divx AVIs and MP3s, and look at TXT and JPG files.
If you are in the same boat I was, try this:1. Go into your registry (Run -> type "regedit" -> click Okay).
2. Look for
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
\SYSTEM
\CurrentControlSet
\Services
\Lanmanserver
\Parameters
3. double-click on IRPStackSize.
4. Choose Decimal as the Base.
5. Change Value Data to 16.
6. Restart
With my Norton firewall off, the BD-P3600 was then able to find all the shared folders, regardless of where they were on my PC.
I also set Norton 360 to allow the BD-P3600 through the firewall. Here's how:1. Find the MAC address on the blu-ray player by going to Setup->Network->Network Connection Test. It should appear in the test.
2. In Norton 360, go to Settings->Firewall Protection->Network Locations->Trusted
3. Click Add.
4. Type in the MAC address of your BD-P3600 and click OK.
With these settings in my Norton 360, I can leave my firewall on and still access my PC's shared folders through the BD-P3600.
