    I think I have solution.

    Instruction manual page 31

    HDMI Video Mode

On: Images are output from the HDMI terminal in the resolution set in “HDMI Video Format”. Video from COMPONENT VIDEO OUT terminal is output as “576i/480i”.
Off Images are output in the resolution set in “Component Resolution”.

    HDMI Video Mode off
    Component Resolution 720p

    new Profigold 1.3 cables

Screen is blinking and seeking signal.

I can not save persistent any from that HDMI connection setting on BD60(eg 720p):

Is it common? I have to switch to component output, set 720p and back to HDMI output. It works.
It is strange because tv accept 1080p...

It seems like there is an HDMI handshaking problem somewhere in the chain with your equipment. Just for troubleshooting, have you tried going directly from the BD60 into your display to see if the problem still occurs if you bypass the Onkyo? Also, are you sure you do not have another HDMI switcher in the chain somewhere between the BD60, the Onkyo, and the display?

Now, you also mention a problem with not being able to save a persistent HDMI output resolution setting on your BD60. I have noticed the same issue on my BD80. I try to set to "1080p" but it keeps reseting to "Auto." I fear this may be a bug in the firmware. Hopefully Panasonic can fix that with a firmware update, but I would recommend calling Panasonic and letting them know about your issues as that is the only way they will become aware of any problems with these players.

I am still hoping for a fix with the disc freezing issue. *shrug*

Definitely the problem is Onkyo 606!!! It can not send 1080p signal to tv
I tried change output HDMI setting on Onkyo from Through to Auto,1080i,720p.. no change - on tv 1080p w/o signal appear..
When I connect bd60 to tv directly everything is working w/o problem...

    Thanks

Have you called Onkyo about this problem? Maybe there is a firmware update or something available to fix the issue? Your Onkyo should be abke to send a 1080p signal, so there definitely must be some sort of handshaking issue going on. Have you tried connecting any other players through the Onkyo or just the Panasonic?

If I can remember Denon 1740 had the same problem with 1080p
I checked firmware and I will phone to local Onkyo dealer tomorrow.

The same problems have more people

From the last link you supplied there it seems people are successful passing the signal through the Onkyo 606 with the Samsung P1500 if the Samsung has the latest firmware, which leads me to ask -- do you have the latest firmware on your Panasonic BD60? If not, then try that. If you have your player connected to the internet, you can download it directly, otherwise it's available here: BD | Digital AV | Consumer Products | Support | Panasonic Global

Also, have you checked to see if there are any firmware updates for your display as well? That can also be an option that may help.

If you already have the latest firmware for the player and/or display or if you try that and it still doesn't work, then your only recourse will probably be to wait on a solution from Onkyo, I'm afraid.

I have an Integra pre/pro from the same generation as the Onkyo TX-SR606. Here's a simple solution that *might* workaround the problem (for you too, Brandon). Try turning off the Onkyo's instant on-screen menu display. This is the function that overlays things like volume adjustment onto your TV screen when you adjust volume on the receiver. By disabling it, you still get the actual Integra set-up menu on your TV screen, but you just don't get the superimposed menu items in real time.

I had to do this on our Integra pre/pro in order to get around an HDMI handshake issue also, in this case trying to get a 1080/24p signal safely through from a Samsung BD-P2500 through the pre/pro into the HDTV.

I think the setting you need is "6-2-1: Miscellaneous... OSD Set Up... Immediate Display: OFF" but this may be called something a little different on your receivers.

Try it out and see if it helps.

BD60 has the newest FW 1.7 (connected to internet)
    Onkyo 606 FW 1.03 / 08630A
Panasonic 42X10 (fw 1005-10000) is new. I used TH-37PX70EA and if I can remember Denon 1740 did not work 1080p too.
    Onkyo is the problem

Immediate Display: OFF - I turned off it before (according to advice from internet) but no change

I received an answer from Onkyo today:
"We are sorry, but we can't find out from here what the exact reason is for
    this problem.
Our engineers at Japan just check this matter at the moment.
For now we have no new information in this issue.
Could you please come back around middle of August."

    New firmware 1.9 today.
