Need wireless rear speakers!

Does anyone have experience with wireless rear speakers? I am curious to see if the Griffin Evolve would work. They do have audio in RCA ports so I could conceivably use the rear pre-amp outs on my receiver and hook them into the Evolve for true wireless sound.

If anyone has tried this or has suggestions on wireless setups please let me know.

I have used the "ROCKET FISH SYSTEM" along with a couple of crappy BOSE cubes and I really hated it.Maybe someone has had luck with a 5.1 system and wireless rears...but I am no fan.Wait a few moments and the pros will comment concerning your situation....for I am a true audio/video noob,just read all my posts,you have come to the right place.

I have yet to be blown away by any wireless speaker systems - they rarely offer the performance of a decent pair of wired speakers, particularly if you're looking for something relatively affordable - but I haven't specifically checked out this Griffin system. They do look cool in that they're truly wireless (with rechargeable batteries). Most "wireless" speakers still need to be plugged in, in order to get power so the only wire you get rid of is the one between the receiver and the speakers. So these are cool for moving your music around the house or out back by the pool.

But if you're going to be using these for wireless surround, do you *really* want to have to plug them into the charger every night and put them back in place every day? It seems like that would get old rather quickly. According to the specs, they only last for 10 hours between charges.

If you're someone who loves to listen exploding music, then the wireless speakers are not recommended. If you're a casual listener of music, then the wireless speaker is the perfect gadget for you to connect almost all the rooms of your house.

There is no such thing as "true" wireless rear speakers, but there is a way to make them seem wireless. Well in my home I use a Samsung HT-X40 surround system because it had the optical input for the PS3. Then I plugged my rear speakers into a wireless kit. Then I hid the wireless kit under the sofa. This setup is kind of expensive but not as expensive as top market. Either way, if you want "wireless" this is the way. check the links in my "what's your source."

Amazon has a special deal on a pair of wireless speakers, with transmitter, for indoor or outdoor use. 900 Hz, 150 foot range - even a wireless remote control for level:

One drawback - this is a mono system (even though there are two speakers). So you'd need two for discrete rear surround channels. Nice system for outdoor use though, for under $100.

But every wireless speakers has this type of flaw in it. Most of them will be a Mono system.

Eos wireless speakers feature a 2 neodymium tweeters & a ported backfiring subwoofer for a great sound.
