Thread: How to Get PC Streaming to Work on Samsung BD-P3600/BD-P4600

  1. Success !

    Bouda is now the Master !

    It work like a charm !
    I did not had to do the elect command.

    Thanks alot Giovanni, you are also a Master !

    Do you have other workaround like that
    for the wifi poor stability with the 3600 dongle
    (always go down after few minutes) ?

    I'm happy it worked

    I didn't even know there was a wifi issue... Here wifi seems pretty stabile, I can watch full movies without a glitch. Wifi is a complex world... I would try with a friend's access point to see if it makes a difference and then maybe buy a new one. That's easier and cost effective

  3. Problem...

    Bouda no longer the master...

    Did not reboot pc...

    Did not do anything and VistaBlue kick Bouda
    and reclaim Master.

    Dont know how...

    The key IsDomainMaster = False is still in the register of Vistablue.

    Could a short lost of network(wifi) on bouda trigger the revert to VistaBlue ?
    Because I think I had a small cut in my wifi with Bouda...
    That is the only thing I can see...

    Here is the result of browse status on VistaBlue:

    VISTABLUE
    Code:
    M:\Browstat>browstat status
    Status for domain MSHOME on transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{9503DC3E-8312-4B65-AF

    and on Bouda:

  4. Lost of network is confirmed

    I put Bouda back as master and I provoke a small network cut.

    And I can confirm that it kick Bouda and replace it with VistaBlue
    as master.

    You see VistaBlue is in my office wired in my wifi router.
    So it almost never have network cut.
    But Bouda is wireless and have a few cut during the day...

    So is it a hopeless situation...?

    No: just prepare a batch file that runs "browstat elect", and execute it before turning on the bluray player.

  6. IsDomainMaster

    Code:
    But there is a good news: you can permanently disable a computer from being the browser master. Change this key in regedit:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Browser\Parameters IsDomainMaster => FALSE
    Giovanni,

    About IsDomainMaster=false, what type of a value must
    it be in the registre?
    When you add a key you have the choice of string, binary, dword, qword etc...

    I added IsDomainMaser as a string with the value False...

    or is it binary ? 1=true and 0 false ?

    So what type must IsDomainMaster be ?
    And do I put false or 0
    for it's value ?

    Thanks !

    Hey there. My father isn't much of a techie as i am and my failing weakness in Computers is Networking, so we have this issue where we can connect and use any of the services (youtube, netflix,pandora, blockbuster) at all. I cant recall the exact errors messages right now, but i ill post them asap. Its odd because when we did the network test, it said everything was configured and ready.

    IsDomainMaster must be of type REG_SZ (string). Try putting "Yes" in Bouda and "No" in the other computer. If you put "Yes" in Bouda, it will probably attempt an election as soon as Bouda is turned on.

    As an alternative, you can try MaintainServerList = No. See:
    Specifying Browser Computers

  9. Yessssssssss !

    Giovanni,

    I think this time it's the good one

    So Bouda is IsDomainMaster=Yes
    MaintainServerList=Auto

    Vistablue is IsDomainMaster=No
    MaintainServerList=No

    I reboot both computers and open Vistablue first and then Bouda
    and Bouda was the Master !

    I provoke a small wifi network cut and when the wifi return
    Bouda was still the Master !!!
    This was not the case before, cause VistaBlue always win the election
    after a network cut.

    As I'm writing this post I had an unprovoked cut and when it reconnected
    Bouda was still the Master !

    So I think this is the good formula for the auto login with bd-p3600 !

    Code:
    PC with your share folders and that you want to log to with auto login:
    With Regedit go to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters
    Add those REG_SZ (string) keys or change the value if they exist:
    IsDomainMaster=Yes
    MaintainServerList=Auto

    All other PC of your network add keys or change the value if they exist:
    IsDomainMaster=No
    MaintainServerList=No

    NB: Make sure that you have the same workgroup on all PC.

    Thanks again Giovanni, I'm sure many of us will now have the option
    of auto login more easily !

  10. Firmware and Loader version ?

    Giovanni,

    I forgot to ask, what is your firmware version and loader version
    of your bd-p3600 ?

    Since you said that your not experiencing unstable connexion with
    the wifi dongle you must be below 2.02 for your firmware version
    no ?

    Because almost everyone had a stable connexion with f/w 1.03
    and a bad one since f/w 2.02...

    So I'm curious to know.
