    Genesis 1970 - 1975 SACD+DVD Box Set

Finally! A Genesis high-res set worth the price of admission, folks. This one sounds far better than both of the first two Phil Collins sets which were tweaked in the high frequencies and suffered from digital clipping in spots as well. Beware, however, if you want the SACD's, you must order from the UK (w/ PAL DVDs) or Japan (NTSC DVDs). The set being sold in the U.S. from Rhino that you can find on Amazon.com here is CD+DVD only.

Amazon.co.uk has the 1970 - 1975 SACD+DVD box set for a rather reasonable price, but it is also available at other audiohile outlets (the NTSC version) like Acoustic Sounds and Music Direct. If you're a Gabriel-era Genesis fan, I highly recommend this set. Not only does it have the best mastering out of the entire project, but it also has the most engaging 5.1 mixes, thanks to Peter Gabriel's involvment with remixing these albums for surround.

Oh, and not to bump my own thread, but the more I listen to the different SACDs, I think I like the way Foxtrot sounds the best. The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is my least favourite from a mastering standpoint, because it is too tweaked in the high frequencies.
