Wink Whats a poor boy 2do?

Previous posts gents.I have battled it out with my wife for days to no avail(did I mention she is an interior designer and hates cables/wires and anything large that plugs in to a socket....ooops don't laugh!lol). She will NOT ALLOW ME TO BREAK OUT MY OLD JBL TOWERS for my left/right speakers,or the rest of my Klipsch rears/sides ,center....My prob is as follows:do I go,er crap...with a PA RM85/WHICH WILL GIVE ME MY SIDES/REAR and a center, for $399.00 or do I go with something like an ENERGY system(Which I have set up in one of my rental properties) Which would include the ENERGY 5.1 CLASSIC PACKAGE?With the sub putting out a massive ..cough..50watts?1)do i run it as posted before,Center/right front/left front and let the Acoustimass 6 sub and 4 speakers do their thing,or do I switch out the Bose sub and run whatever I want through it?I know I am completely out of the loop these days but at age 14 I had a sweet Sony tv,and my only product I ever loved....BOSE 901's,combined with a sweet reel/to real! ,That I blasted our beach house with old ALICE,DEEP PURPLE,MOTT DA HOOPLE and VANILLA FUDGE...NOW "ALL YOU YOUNG DUDES...CARRY ME DA NEWS' and hel steer me.

Hey, let's leave your sex life out of this OK. This is a family show!

She will NOT ALLOW ME TO BREAK OUT MY OLD JBL TOWERS for my left/right speakers,or the rest of my Klipsch rears/sides ,center....
Time for a trade-in. Either the wife or the speakers. The speakers are probably easier.

My prob is as follows:do I go,er crap...with a PA RM85/WHICH WILL GIVE ME MY SIDES/REAR and a center, for $399.00 or do I go with something like an ENERGY system(Which I have set up in one of my rental properties) Which would include the ENERGY 5.1 CLASSIC PACKAGE?With the sub putting out a massive ..cough..50watts?1)
Not sure if you know but Polk and Energy are actually two of my budget picks for home theater, and the Energy Take 5 system is what my partner on the web site uses for his reference system. If you want small but high performance, it's hard to go wrong with the Energy Take 5 Classic system and it's $399 for the full package on amazon which is really a great deal.

do i run it as posted before,Center/right front/left front and let the Acoustimass 6 sub and 4 speakers do their thing,or do I switch out the Bose sub and run whatever I want through it?I know I am completely out of the loop these days but at age 14 I had a sweet Sony tv,and my only product I ever loved....BOSE 901's,combined with a sweet reel/to real! ,That I blasted our beach house with old ALICE,DEEP PURPLE,MOTT DA HOOPLE and VANILLA FUDGE...NOW "ALL YOU YOUNG DUDES...CARRY ME DA NEWS' and hel steer me.
Put the JBLs, Bose and Klipsch up on eBay and go for the Energy system. You can add two additional Energy speakers in the rear if you want to get 7.1. Also, if the sub doesn't quite provide enough oomph, then you can always upgrade that later or (better yet) add a second sub which can really help smooth out and extend the bass response. This should keep ther otherwise lovely wife happy because the Energy system is small, and even adding a second subwoofer can be done discretely because you can always disguise it as an end table. Just watch your drink during those cannon blasts!

    Good luck!
