Default Warner Readying Release of Popeye DVD Sets

POPEYE THE SAILOR 1941-1943 VOLUME 3 (SRP $34.98) & POPEYE AND FRIENDS VOL. 2 (SRP $14.97) are coming to from Warner Home Video, Hearst Entertainment, and King Features Syndicate on September 30, 2008.

Popeye The Sailor 1941-1943 Volume 3 includes 32 (7-10 min.) original re-mastered and unedited theatrical black & white shorts on a 2-disc DVD collectable set. This is an authorized edition from the original masters and includes loads of interviews and never-before-seen special features.

The Popeye and Friends series is comprised of a selection of full-color shorts from the TV show featuring our favorite sailor and his pals. Vol. 2 contains four classic episodes on one disc from Popeye & Son which debuted on CBS in 1987 as part of its Saturday morning cartoon lineup. This is an authorized edition from the original masters, which provides full-color episodes starring Popeye, Olive Oyl, Popeye Junior, Bluto and the rest of the gang including:
  • Happy Anniversary
  • Poopdeck Pappy and the Family Tree
  • Junior Gets a Summer Job
  • Junior’s Genie
