How do you get 1080P/24 and is my TV compatible with it?

I am new to this feature and was wondering if someone could explain it or direct me to a related post (couldn't find one with Search). All I know is that when activated, the movie is displayed in 24FPS like in the movie theater...but how do I get my PS3 to do this?

Also, does my TV support 1080P/24?

    I have the Samsung LN-T5265F...

While your TV does support 24 FPS inputs (1080p/24), it does nothing special with them. Like most sets, it converts 24p content to 60 Hz for display so you can still get slightly jittery motion (known as "judder") due to the requirement of converting 24 frame per second content at 60 Frames per second for display. Doing this in the PS3 or in the TV is probably not going to be all that different.

Some of the newer 120 Hz LCD sets (but not all) and some of the plasma HDTVs from Pioneer and Panasonic support 24 FPS content by displaying it at an even multiple of 24 (48 Hz on the Panasonic plasmas, 72 Hz on the Pioneer plasmas, 120 Hz on compatible LCD TVs).

As for turning on 24p output on the PS3, I think that's in the BD/DVD settings menu. You could always try it and see if the results are any different than what you're getting now. If the PS3 is set to "Auto" then you may be getting 1080p/24 output already without even knowing about it.

    Good luck!
