Yeah CNET does that alot with screen sizes. They also did that with the G10 series where they reviewed a 46 inch and lumped it together or said the review will apply to the 42 and 50 inch versions also. Look forward to your review of the V10. I'll be purchasing the second week of July.

Well, not sure we'll have anything up by then as CNET has to return theirs, and then there's one more outlet in the queue before us. Unfortunately it might be later July before we get it in and get it tested.

But CNET's ratings are pretty accurate on most things, IMHO. I bet it's a great set.

Regards,

-Chris

I'm in the process of earning the extra bucks for the 50 inch V10.
One Call has it for $1799.77, but it will be about 2 weeks before I have the ready cash.

Yeah, I was going to mention the OneCall deal for $1799.99 delivered. Best price I've seen on it yet. But this is a weekend only sale that ends Sunday night:

Panasonic TC-P50V10 Plasma TV - OneCall.com

C'mon, Don. You know you want it! That's what credit cards are for!

Welcome back, by the way, where've ya been?

My TC-P54V10 will be here next Thursday, will post some thoughts on it after I use it for a while. This will replace a cheap 42 inch Sanyo plasma I have. We also have a Panny 42PZ700U which I think has a good picture so I'm hoping to be happy with the 54V10. The HD TV shootout last Sat and yesterday, Sunday in plasmas the V10 came in third behind Pioneer 500M,Samsung(don't remeber the model). LG was last. They tested the highend models of plasma and LCD.

Where (what web site or publication) did this "shoot out?" And what's a Pioneer 500M? Is that a European model?

The shootout is sposored by Value Electronics.com. Robert Zohn. They had one last year also. They had the top LCD's and Plasmas on the wall. Over several days top calibrators including D-Nice from AVS calibrated each set. Scroll down the page on the site and it shows the models and the results if you click them. Takes a minute results are PDF. The Pioneer KRP 500M is a monitor no tuner, speakers or stand. It won the shootout. I watched the thing on a live stream but there was also a audience who graded the displays with test content as well as Blu Ray scenes from The Dark Knight. Major manufactureres sent reps also to give presentations.

Have there been any professional reviews done on the V10 series?

CNET with David Katzmier rates the 50V10 as excellent 4 stars out of five and the V10 earned Editors Choice Award. The review is good for 50 and 54 inch versions. CNET reviewed the 50 inch.

HDGURU just posted his review today and called the V10 the new standard or something for flat panel tv's. He was very impressed with the V10. He reviewed the 54 inch model that I currently have owned now for three weeks. I also own a Panasonic tc-pz42700u and this display V10 is noticably better IMO. It's simply stunning. I'm running DISH HD,Panny BD30 BLU Ray,DVR,VHS recorder all through HDMi Onkyo 705 on my 54V10.

HDGURU calls the V10 "The New King of HDTV'S"
