    Default Pelham 123

    Chris, Just watched Pelham 123.
Having rode the #7 train many times, when did it go to Coney Island or did I miss something? Lived in Jackson heights and Elmhurst.
Watched the movie carefully and the locations and stations are not the way I remember them.

Great Movie though! Picture and sound excellent!

    Hi, Don,

Your memory is correct. The 7 Train goes between Times Square in Manhattan to Flushing, Queens, including stops for the US Open stadium and Shea Stadium (now Citi Field). It definitely doesn't go to Brooklyn/Coney Island. If the movie has the 7 train going to Coney Island then they are taking some liberties. The train that is highjacked, in the book (and in the original movie from 1974, I believe), is actually the 6 train which goes between the Bronx (Pelham Bay Park) and City Hall in Manhattan. I don't believe that train ever went to Brooklyn either.

I haven't seen the movie but I guess they are either messing around with reality to suit the story or the characters are forcing MTA crew or otherwise controlling the track switching to allow them to take the 7 train to places it would not normally go.
