Default yamaha rx-v465 out of range problem

We can not find out what is wrong with this reciever. we had direct tv signal and blue ray signal last night, meaning pic and sound. tonight we can watch direct tv but when we put in a blue ray we got sound and no pic, and an error messsage that says out of range. we tried a new disc, changed dvd players, reset the reciever to factory settings, and still no pic with the dvd but the direct tv works fine any one know what is wrong?

Need a little more information. What is the model and brand of Blu-ray player and how do you have it connected to the receiver? Are you using HDMI or some other connection? If HDMI, which HDMI input is this connected to on the receiver and have you tried one of the other HDMI inputs?

And are you using any additional HDMI switches in the chain or just the receiver?

And if you plug the Blu-ray player directly into one of the available HDMI inputs on the TV do you get the picture and sound?

Regards,

-Chris
