Yamaha RX-V465

I just bought this Yamaha and I am trying to setup the speakers with the auto setup (YPAO) but I keep getting W-1 error which is out of phase.I rechecked all of the speakers and they are hooked up right. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks, Rick

Try repositioning the speakers slightly or move something from in front of the speaker. My wife placed a plant in front of one of mine and I got an out of phase message.

By "hooked up right" you mean the black connector on each end of the speaker wire goes to the black terminal and red goes to red? And you've verified that the banana plugs or spade lugs are connected properly to the wire (someone could have reversed the plugs when they put them on the wire if these are terminated by hand). Or if you're using bare wire, then you have the same wire going to positive and negative on each end, yeah?

It's possible that the phase error is caused by speaker positioning, or blockage as Don said. It's also possible that one of your speakers is actually cross-wired internally. Does it tell you specifically which channel is out of phase or is it just a general phase error?

I have checked the wires twice to each speaker.Positive to positive and negative to negative and they are right. It doesn't say which speaker it is.It just said out of phase.The manual says the cause is the speaker polarity is not correct,but it also says that this message may appear depending on the speakers even when the speakers are connected correctly.There is nothing in front of the speakers. They are mounted on the wall so it is kind of hard to move them around. I guess I will have to set the speakers up manualy. Thanks for the advice. Rick
