    Only if you want to take advantage of the better upconversion of analog sources to HDMI (ABT, vs. Faroudja DCDi) and the new height channel capabilities in Audyssey DSX and Dolby ProLogic IIz.

    Otherwise, you'll be just fine staying with that outdated old boat anchor.
    Yes, I'm kidding. The 3808 is a very nice receiver. It's like a fine Cabernet, improving with age.
