Yamaha Launches 3 HTiB Systems with 4K and Bluetooth Support

By Rachel Cericola

Building a better home theater can be very exciting. However, mixing and matching the right equipment, the cost and even the actual setup can make the process a little daunting as well. Yamaha wants to take some of the work out of your improvement project by launching three home-theater-in-a-box (HTiB) systems with the type of technology you'd want in a brand-new home theater setup.

The new 5.1-channel lineup includes the YHT-3920UBL, the YHT-4920UBL and the YHT-5920UBL. Each one features a Yamaha receiver, five speakers and a powered 100-watt subwoofer. Just add a screen and you're all set!

And really, you can add any screen, because Yamaha has included 4K Ultra HD pass-through at 60p 4:2:0 with HDCP 2.2, so you can enjoy Ultra HD 4K from streaming media and future Blu-ray Disc players.

If you're looking for more audio, each of these HTiB packages also has Bluetooth built in. That way, you can stream an endless amount of audio from any smartphone, tablet or computer, all right to your home theater. Of course, all three include Yamaha's Compressed Music Enhancer technology to give that Bluetooth music a boost, as well as support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio HD Audio formats.

The YHT-5920UBL adds in WiFi, AirPlay and vTuner radio, as well as support for Pandora and Spotify. (Subscriptions and/or fees may be required.). This type of connectivity will allow you to tap into music around the house and through the web. Other features include support for high-resolution audio, such as 192kHz/24-bit FLAC, WAV or AIFF files, as well as Apple Lossless and DSD formats (2.8MHz/5.6MHz). It even offers control options via Yamaha's free AV Controller App for Apple iOS and Android devices.

The entire lineup also features Yamaha's YPAO automatic calibration package for setting up the system properly in your particular room. If set up is a problem, all three HTIB systems have Yamaha's Virtual Cinema Front technology, so you can place all five speakers at the front of the room and still get the surround sound effect.

"HTiB systems are a convenient way to get true theater-style surround sound and ours go the extra mile, providing the latest features like Bluetooth and 4K Ultra HD video support for a wider selection of home entertainment options," said Bob Goedken, general manager of Yamaha's AV division. "The speakers that come with these systems are acoustically matched to optimize sound quality, so that you get the best home theater experience."

Yamaha has priced the YHT-5920UBL, the YHT-4920UBL and the YHT-3920UBL at $699.95, $529.95 and $479.95, respectively. All three options are shipping now.
