VIZIO Starts Selling 80-inch 3D Razor LED Smart TV for Under $4K

By Rachel Cericola

Planning to spend your summer vacation catching up on movies, TV and sports? Maybe shielding yourself from fun in the sun would be more a lot more fun with a new HDTV. (Everything is!) VIZIO is hoping to entice summer shoppers with an affordable 80-inch model.

The company just started selling the 80-inch Razor LED Smart TV with Theater 3D. Also known as the M801d, this model is VIZIO's biggest HDTV to date. However, you probably wouldn't know that by the price tag. The company has listed this big boy with an MSRP of $3,999.99.

It's certainly a bargain for such a big size. However, VIZIO isn't skimping out on any of the features that you'd expect to find in a new, extra-large HDTV. This 80-incher has a full 1080p HD image, Smart Dimming, and a 240Hz refresh rate with Smooth Motion technology. It also includes Theater 3D, which is VIZIO's own brand of passive 3D technology. That means that you won't get 1080p in 3D, but it's still a fun experience. And you will be able to test that out right out of the box, since this model includes four pairs of lightweight 3D glasses.

This big HDTV also includes built-in WiFi, so you can tap into all sorts of goodies through VIZIO Internet Apps Plus. This is VIZIO's web-based platform, which can deliver on-screen access to streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, M-GO, VUDU, HuluPlus, YouTube, Pandora, Facebook, and more.

Other features include four HDMI inputs and two USB ports for connecting all sorts of AV essentials, as well as a super-slim bezel. It also comes with a backlit remote for easy control even during late-night viewing. VIZIO says that at some point this summer, the company will add WiFi and universal remote features to all M-Series controllers, promising a better navigation experience overall.
