Sonos Offers Six Free Months of Google Play Music with Any Sonos Wireless Speaker System

By Rachel Cericola

Whether you're planning to snag a Sonos system for Dad, a grad or yourself, now would be a good time to get on that. Sonos just announced a new promotion that will offer six months of Google Play Music for free with the purchase of any Sonos player.

Back in April, Sonos announced plans to add Google Play Music into the company's mix. Google Play Music is a service that combines an online music locker, a music store and music streaming. The Standard plan is a free version of the service, which allows users to store 20,000 songs, buy new music and stream the music to iOS and Android devices, as well as a web browser. The All Access plan delivers over 22 million tracks on-demand, along with plenty of ad-free radio options (with unlimited skips!) and playlists that were put together by Google's best music geeks. The All Access option typically costs $9.99 per month.

However, if you purchase a new Sonos product, you can score six months of that All Access plan for free! Users can tap into the service from a web browser or the Sonos app. There's also a Google Play Music app, but that's currently an exclusive for Android users. Those users can also "cast" a song or playlist directly to a Sonos player from within the Google Play Music app.

The music service can be accessed through the Google Play Music app or the Sonos app.

Once you've made your purchase, just set up your Sonos system in your home. It's wireless, so you should be able to put that speaker just about anywhere. Then, register your system online to get your free music voucher. From there, you just need to create a Google Play Music account and activate the service on your Sonos system. It's that easy!

Sonos is offering this freebie on purchases made through the Sonos website, as well as retailers like Amazon, Best Buy and Target. However, you'd better buy that product soon! The offer is only good on purchases made from now through July 5, 2014.
