When it comes to film festivals, we typically hear about great performances or bidding wars. However, the buzz at the recently concluded 2016 Tribeca Film Festival (TFF) revolved around OPPO Digital's BDT-101CI Blu-ray Disc Transport.
The company installed a total of 20 players in TFF's screening rooms and theaters. According to OPPO, the players were picked because festival organizers were concerned about reliable and accurate playback of all of those film submissions. Instead of worrying, the TFF team opted to go with the OPPO BDT-101CI.
The BDT-101CI is a Blu-ray Disc Transport that's designed for custom installations and professional applications. It includes some of the features from the company's BDP-103 and 105 series, but really focuses on disc and digital file playback. OPPO says that the system's design makes the player quick to start up, easy to use, and compatible with a large range of formats.
In addition to supporting several audio and video file formats, the BDT-101CI has 4K upscaling, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, VRS (Video Reference Series) ClearView video processing, and multiple zoom modes. It even supports one or two HDMI outputs via the additional HDMI output module. Other features include three customizable picture adjustment presets, three USB ports, an AKM 32-bit audio DAC, and more.
"We've distributed the BDT-101CI models festival-wide and they've demonstrated flawless performance," said Karl Mehrer, technical director of Tribeca Film Festival. "I'm very excited to have this level of quality and reliability working for us here."
The BDT-101CI is currently available through qualified integrators, installers, and local resellers.
