New Samsung Sound+ Soundbar Eliminates the Subwoofer, But Still Goes Down to 35 Hz

By Rachel Cericola

We just finished rocking out to the Samsung HW-K950 Dolby Atmos soundbar. (Our own Chris Boylan calls it "an impressive product.") Now the company has another audio release coming to perk your ears up.

Samsung just announced plans to release the MS750 Sound+ Soundbar. First shown back in January at CES 2017, the hook on this soundbar package is that it has a "one body" design. That basically means it promises a complete audio experience, without the need for a subwoofer.

Instead, this one speaker cabinet can deliver all of the bass you need. More specifically, it has Samsung's Anti-Distortion Technology, which helps the MS750 get down as low as 35Hz. Promising 5-channel sound, the MS750 also includes wide-band, front- and top-mounted tweeters, and mid-range speakers.

Because of that slim, sleek form factor, this speaker can go pretty much anywhere. Samsung has designed it to fit into a console beneath the TV or you can attach it directly to the TV for a more minimal look. It even cuts down on cable clutter, allowing users to plug the TV right into the back of the MS750. Samsung also plans to make an optional TV mounting bracket available.

Back at CES, the company was saying that the unit will feature UHQ 32-bit audio. This proprietary technology promises to produce 32 bits of detailed sound from sources that typically provide between 8 and 24 bits. It basically upscales that audio and cranks out something that's clear and closer to the original recording than existing HD audio.

Other than that, no additional specs, pricing, and/or a release date are available for the MS750 Sound+ Soundbar right now. Expect that info to come closer to the launch date, which should be sometime this summer.
