New Russound TVA2.1 Allows Your TV to Drive Any Speakers for Better Sound

By Rachel Cericola

Over the years, TVs have gotten a lot cooler. They're bigger, better looking, and can project imagery like you've never seen before. However, that appearance isn't doing the actual sound that's being emitted any favors. Russound wants to give that TV audio a little boost, with the TVA2.1 Digital Amplifier.

The TVA2.1 can upgrade any flat-panel TV. Boasting 35 watts per channel, it has three line-level inputs (analog, coaxial, and optical) and a subwoofer out. It even has an IR remote feature, so you can use your existing remote to control the volume levels, as well as mute the TV sound completely.

Because it's so thin, it can be hung right behind the TV in a wall box or right on your existing TV mount. It then bypasses that television's onboard speakers to transform the audio experience. No receiver is needed!

"It's no secret that most built-in TV speakers can't effectively reproduce the dynamic range of special audio effects, dialogue, and music in video entertainment," said Russound CEO Charlie Porritt. "We have zeroed in on this core problem, and solved it with the TVA2.1. Like most good ideas, it's simple and it works beautifully."

Russound is selling the TVA2.1 now, with an MSRP of $299.
