Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase Two Collection Blu-ray Available for Pre-Order

By Rachel Cericola

Just in case you needed a reason to start making out your Christmas list in late July, we have some very interesting news. The Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase Two Collection Blu-ray set is coming this holiday season.

The limited-edition, 13-disc collection will include six movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including the newly released Ant-Man. The collection will also come packingĀ Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Every single one of those movies will feature a Blu-ray 3D disc, a 2D Blu-ray disc, and a Digital Copy. As far as we can tell, no standard-def DVD discs will be included.

However, there are still plenty of surprises -- and lingering questions. For instance, the set will include a "Top-Secret Bonus Disc" and other goodies. What exactly that means is anybody's guess. We do know that other memorabilia will come with the set, as well as specially designed disc holders.

Also, we don't have an exact release date yet. All we know at this point is that the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase Two Collection Blu-ray set will arrive in time to stuff a few stockings, around the holiday season.

Are you ready "to hold the greatest power in the cosmos in the palm of your hand?" Or at least, hold a spot on your A/V shelf? The Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase Two Collection Blu-ray set is available for pre-order now, priced at $249.99.

If you're looking to blow some time (and money) before the set is released, the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One - Avengers Assembled Blu-ray set is still selling, with a list price of $219. (At last peek, Amazon had it for $190.) This 10-disc set has Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D versions of Marvel's The Avengers, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Thor, as well as Blu-rays for Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and The Incredible Hulk. There's also a bonus disc titled, "The Phase One Archives," with the "And Then Shawarma After" featurette, along with new deleted scenes, extended scenes, and more from each film. All of that is nicely packaged into a special case, perfect for your favorite superhero.
