MantelMount Solves the Problem with Over-the-Fireplace Flat Panel TV Wall Mounts

By Greg Robinson

In any room where you have both a fireplace and a TV, there will inevitably be a discussion about whether or not to wall-mount the TV over the fireplace. Tune in to one of the countless home improvement and home remodel shows that dominate the lineups on the HGTV and DIY networks, and nine times out of ten you'll see the hosts install a flat panel display over the fireplace. Many people agree: if you need to put a TV somewhere, over the fireplace is an attractive option. Aesthetically. However, when it comes to actually watching that TV, when your neck and back are already sore from a long day at work, that's when you may start to regret your decision to mount your display way up there, above the mantel. Fear not though. MantelMount has an innovative solution for your problem.

Unless you're one of those people who enjoys the front row in a movie theater, odds are you don't want to have to crane your neck every time you watch a movie. That's why Matelmount has created a pull-down wall mount which allows you to easily bring your display down to eye level before settling in on the couch. Designed for displays ranging in size from 48-80 inches (diagonal), and weighing up to 115 pounds, the MantleMount installs like a conventional wall mount. Stone and brick fireplaces can also be accommodated with the use of concrete anchors (sold separately).

Say goodbye to neck pain and off-axis picture quality issues. MantelMount brings the display down to your level.

Once the display is pulled down, MantelMount allows you to then swivel the display left or right to better face your seating area. The handle that's used to lower and swivel the display also features an integrated heat sensor, causing the handle to turn red when the temperature above the fireplace exceeds a safe 110 degrees Farenheit.

MantelMount is available now for $399 at Amazon and also direct from the manufacturer.
