Logitech Unveils G633 and G933 Gaming Headsets with DTS Headphone:X and 7.1 Dolby Sound

By Rachel Cericola

We've seen some awesome headphones for music fans, but Logitech has designed its latest headgear specifically with the gamer in mind -- and they may make you want to think about dusting off that console. Get ready to rumble (literally), with the newly announced Logitech G933 Artemis Spectrum Wireless Gaming Headset and the Logitech G633 Artemis Spectrum Gaming Headset.

Both of the new products pack in patent pending Pro-G audio drivers that are made with hybrid mesh materials. The end result will deliver audiophile quality to gamers everywhere, whether you're blasting out soundtracks or special effects.

However, the real hook is that the G633 and G933 also feature both Dolby and DTS Headphone:X surround options. This will get you into the game like never before, with up to 7.1 channels of audio and multiple options for personalization. Just know that each model will arrive with the Dolby goodies, but DTS Headphone:X support is coming in early October via a firmware update.

The Logitech G633 is a wired model, with one USB port and one analog input. This allows you to connect and mix sound from up to two devices. The Logitech G933 has a USB mix adapter and two analog inputs for use with up to three devices. It also has wired and 2.4GHz wireless options.

Designed for use with PCs, mobile devices and consoles, both models also have RGB lighting for up to 16.8 million colors, swappable backlit speaker plates, and programmable G-keys. Also, if you pair each product with Logitech Gaming Software, it's easy to customize audio settings and create personal sound profiles. All of the G933 Artemis Spectrum users can even save favorite EQ settings and pair the headset with home theater setups (via a USB port and RCA audio out).

"We saw that no one was really building a pair of high-quality headphones for gamers," said Ujesh Desai, vice president and general manager of the Logitech gaming business. "So we challenged our audio team to see if they could do it. I'm a gamer and a musician, so I was really excited when the team came back with a design that delivered."

Logitech will start selling the G633 Artemis Spectrum Gaming Headset in September, with an MSRP of $149.99. The Logitech G933 Artemis Spectrum Wireless Gaming Headset will follow sometime in October, priced at $199.99.
