Klipsch HD 500 5.1 Speaker System with Pioneer VSX-920-K 7.1 Receiver: $599 (Save $419)

By Rachel Cericola

We froth as much as the next person when it comes to big HDTVs. However, if you don't have the proper audio equipment, you are only getting half of the A/V experience.  After all, what's a Big Picture without Big Sound?

But speakers alone don't make up the entire audio side of the package. It's also important to have a good audio/video receiver.  The receiver is the hub of any multimedia or home theater system acting as the input switcher, format decoder and amplifier to make those speakers sing.  Sometimes, getting a decent speaker system and receiver can be quite an investment -- but it doesn't have to be.

If you're looking to build (or replace) your audio setup with something high performance that won't break the bank, Amazon currently has the perfect deal. For a limited time, when you buy the Klipsch HD 500 5.1 Speaker System, Amazon will throw in Pioneer's VSX-920-K 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver absolutely free. That will save you a whopping $419 which you can then use for discs, downloads, or any other essentials. Check out all of the details of this deal on Amazon's main promotion page:

The HD 500 from Klipsch is a compact, but complete, 5.1-channel speaker solution. It comes with four small speakers and a slightly larger center channel. Each one of those speakers has a nice shiny black finish, as well as a 2.5-inch IMG woofer and a MicroTractrix Horn-loaded 0.75-inch aluminum dome tweeter. The center is also magnetically shielded. Rounding out the set is the 8-inch 100-watt subwoofer. The setup also comes with everything you'd need to mount each of those five speakers. Find out more on Amazon's product page:

Add both items into your shopping cart and the discount will be visible during the final step of check-out.

Don't forget; this deal also includes a little freebie. The bonus here is the Pioneer VSX-920-K receiver, which lists for $419 on its own. This 7.1 channel capable receiver features 110 watts per channel, Anchor Bay and PureCinema video processing, four 3D-ready HDMI inputs, and Bluetooth support (via the optional AS-BT100 Bluetooth adapter). Other perks include decoding for all of the latest audio formats including Dolby Pro Logic IIz, as well as Pioneer's Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration system (MCACC) which offers instant automated speaker set-up via the included microphone. Also, "Works with iPhone" certification means that you can easily connect your iPod, iPhone or iPod touch (in the front!) for playback right through the receiver. Find out more on Amazon:

Just remember: Amazon is only offering this deal from now through April 30, 2011 -- or whenever the retailer runs out of stock. However, to get the discounts, you will need to buy both items from Amazon.com as the seller (not one of the third-party merchants like TigerDirect). Depending on current pricing this may be the default seller or you may have to dig around on the right side of the page under "More Buying Choices." Don't worry - if you do it right, just before you check out, you'll see the cost of the receiver applied to your cart (see sample cart to the right).  If you don't see that, then just click back and try again.  It may be easier to add both items to your cart from the main deal page as this ensures that you will be eigible for this deal.
