Home Theater Receiver Deal: Harman Kardon AVR 2600 7.1 for $324.99 (list: $800)

By Rachel Cericola

Need a new brain for your home theater? Of course, we're talking about an AV receiver. It may not be the most attractive component (although we do kinda like the looks of this one), but having a good receiver is an absolute must in a home theater setup. It can actually make a big difference in your system's performance and also serves as a hub, connecting all of those AV goodies in one spot.

A good receiver can be an expensive investment. However, it doesn't have to be today. We found Amazon selling the Harman Kardon AVR 2600 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver for just $324.99. This is a highly rated receiver, which has a list price of $799. That means that you can save a total of $474 (59 percent!) off this purchase. That price even includes free shipping. This receiver would make a great backbone for any 7.1-channel setup -- 5.1 too! It features support for high-res audio formats like Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, Superior Logic 7 sound processing, Faroudja DCDi Cinema video processing, and Dolby Volume. Also, if you want to add in an iPod or iPhone, it's a snap with Harman Kardon's optional Bridge III docking station.

Other highlights include 65 clean watts per channel, a full-color on-screen menu, the EzSet/EQ calibration system, four HDMI inputs, and much more. Also, the AVR 2600 does support 3D HDMI pass-through, thanks to a recent firmware upgrade. Find out more about Harman Kardon's receiver on Amazon's product page:

When ordering this receiver, make sure to buy from Worldwide Stereo on Amazon.  This is the third party merchant offering the lowest price on this receiver.  You will still get free  shipping on this item. We're not sure how long this deal will last, so you'd better snag one (and maybe one for a friend) before it's gone!
