Epson makes some excellent home theater projectors. In fact, we were just talking them up as one of the more affordable options out there. To prove that point, the company is releasing a trio of new projectors that will fit into any home as well as any budget.

Arriving this month, the Epson Home Cinema 2040 and Home Cinema 2045 can deliver 2D and 3D images in full 1080p HD, with 2,200 lumens of color brightness, 2,200 lumens of white brightness, and a contrast ratio up to 35,000:1.

These 3LCD, 3-chip projectors also come packing an enhanced optical engine, an improved LCD panel, Detail Enhancement and frame interpolation. Other image perks include four pre-set color modes and a new iris by New Wing, which boasts better blacks because it can control the light reduction rate more efficiently.

Both projectors also offer built-in sound and two HDMI inputs for hooking up a Blu-ray player, media streamer or game console. One of those inputs does include support for MHL devices, so users can stream TV shows, movies and video games. Other connection options include component video, USB Type A and USB 2.0. The 2045 also adds in wireless streaming options via Miracast and Intel WiDi.

"Epson's new home theater projectors bring the big-screen home at an accessible price point delivering full 1080p, color and white light output, 2D and 3D performance, and installation flexibility," said Jason Palmer, marketing manager at Epson America. "Equipped with value-add features such as advanced Epson Video processing, built-in color modes and intuitive image correction, these projectors offer powerful tools that enrich the immersive media projection experience."

Epson will start selling the Home Cinema 2040 and the Home Cinema 2045 later this month, priced at $799 and $849, respectively. Compatible, rechargeable 3D glasses are sold separately, promising up to 40 hours of entertainment on a full charge.

If 3D and even 1080p isn't all that important, the company is also planning to ship the Home Cinema 740HD sometime in September. This 3LCD, 3-chip projector can deliver big-screen fun almost anywhere. It boasts a 720p resolution, 3,000 lumens of color brightness, 3,000 lumens of white brightness, and up to a 15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.

This model also has built-in sound, as well as an HDMI port. Promising images up to 300 inches, the Home Cinema 740HD even features a split-screen option, four built-in color modes, a 1.2x optical zoom, keystone correction and more.

Look for the Home Cinema 740HD sometime in September, with an MSRP of $649.
