Dish Entices New Subscribers with Free HopperGO DVR

By Rachel Cericola

If you're considering a move to DISH Network, ‘tis the season. The company just announced plans to give the HopperGO DVR out to new subscribers.

From now through December 11, 2016, new customers will get the portable DVR for free when they sign up for a Flex Pack or any other base programming package.

The HopperGO is a pocket-sized DVR that lets subscribers take recorded content anywhere. Just connect it to your Hopper DVR (via the included USB cable) and transfer up to 100 hours of recorded movies and TV shows. Then when you're out and about, you can watch that content without having to connect to Wi-Fi or use up your data plan.

Instead, the HopperGO acts like hotspot, so it actually connects to mobile devices without a need for web access. And because it doesn't rely on the Internet, there are no hiccups or buffering issues. It can work with up to five mobile devices at a time, so up to five family members can watch five different programs at the same time.

It also works like a charm. In fact, we called this device "a dream" when we reviewed it back in May. For more information, check out "Hands-On with DISH Network's HopperGO."

To get a free HopperGO, new customers should call 855-505-5252 and mention the offer code "FreeHopperGO." It should also be noted that some restrictions apply and you will need a Hopper 2 or Hopper 3 DVR to use the portable box.
